What is Low Temperature Ball Valve ?
The core component of the low temperature ball valve is a precision-machined ball, the body and bonnet are made of special materials such as cryogenic-resistant stainless steel and cryogenic-resistant cast steel. The movement of the ball is affected by the pressure of the fluid and the spring force. The holes in the sphere are aligned with the inlet and outlet of the valve, thus allowing the flow of media (open state). Rotation in the opposite direction will cause the hole on the ball to be misaligned with the pipe, blocking the flow of the medium (closed state). Its design application environment can reach -196 °C, has special requirements in structural design and process. It is widely used in the transportation and control of liquid cryogenic media, including liquid oxygen, liquid hydrogen, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and other liquid gases and liquefied petroleum products.

The characteristics of low temperature ball valve

The bonnet adopts a long neck structure, the purpose of which is to protect the function of the stuffing box, so that the stuffing box is far away from the low temperature and ensure the sealing effect of the packing. At the same time, it can also be wrapped with cold insulation materials to prevent cold energy loss.

The valve stem material is chrome-plated or nitrided to improve the surface hardness of the valve stem and the reliability of the packing seal.

The low temperature ball valve has a structure to prevent abnormal pressure increase. Since the volume of the low temperature valve medium expands sharply after gasification, the pressure will increase abnormally. When the pressure in the valve cavity increases, the valve cavity and the inlet side are connected, or a pressure relief valve is installed at the inlet end of the valve to ensure the safe use of the valve.

A disc spring is set at the bolt connection of the packing pressure plate to compensate for the impact of temperature changes and ensure good sealing.
